The CrossFit Season is upon us! February 26th kicks off the first of five workouts announced in the 2015 CrossFit Open. More than 300,000+ CrossFitters worldwide will toss their names into the hat and test their fitness. This year CrossFit has introduced both a ‘scaled’ and ‘teen’ division to include all of us that are still improving on our skill work. To help, all month long we will be holding free clinics, at both Boxes, to help everyone with the common movements often seen in The Open; the clean & jerk, the snatch, rowing, double unders, pull-ups and muscle ups.
In addition to the CrossFit Open, we are improving the Boxes all around this year. Next time you are in take a look, fresh paint is already on the walls and new equipment is arriving every month. In addition to the fresh look, we have hired a CrossFit apparel company to design apparel for the Box throughout the year. The first of which will be ready for the CrossFit Open.

Valentine’s Day Partner WOD
On Saturday, February 14th, bring in your Valentine or partner up with someone at the Box for a great Valentine’s Day themed workout and party. Our very own Chef Paul will be bringing in appetizers and we will have a mimosa and bloody mary bar for your post WOD cool down.
2015 CrossFit Open
It’s that time of year again, The 2015 Reebok CrossFit Open begins at the end of the month. Starting February 15th we are hosting free clinics to help everyone improve on those movements often seen in The Open workouts.
The first workout of The Open will be announced on Thursday, February 26th, and we will be showing the live feed at CFML and CFR5. The released workout will be Friday’s WOD and your scores will be ranked on the CrossFit Games website. Every Friday during the CrossFit Open we will be holding “Friday Night Lights”, an opportunity for all Athletes to encourage and cheer for each other. If you are registered for the Open, please try to attend the 5:30pm WOD time at both Boxes – this will be the time that we will make sure we have plenty of judges and we can go all-out in the workouts. Even if your not planning on registering stop by and cheer on your fellow Box-mates. If you have any questions, please ask a Coach.
Whats coming to the Box in 2015??
Over the next several months we are looking to improve CFML and CFR5 by updating the interiors, bringing in new equipment, adding additional classes such as yoga and self defense and we have been officially credentialized bythe United States Weight Lifting Association as the “Main Line Barbell Club”. Check out the list below and our new schedule to see what is coming in 2015.
So what will you see in the coming months? – dumbells for WODs – additional foam and wood plyo boxes – specialized CrossFit Kids/Teens equipment – additional climbing ropes – assault bikes – additional and newer GHD machines – additions to the pull up rigs – olympic lifting platforms – competition barbells and weight plates for barbell club – continuing education for our Coaches so that we can continue to be the best – additional babysitters for busy class times – additional Coaches for busy class times – adding yoga and future self defense classes on the weekend – additional cleanings of the Box, including equipment and babysitting room – touching up the interior paint and flooring to keep your home box clean and safe
Main Line Barbell Club
It’s official! The Main Line Barbell Club is registered with USA Weightlifting. Over the next few months you will see branded platforms and competition weights enter the Box. We are excited about the growth and want to encourage athletes to jump into upcoming meets!

Owners Daniel and Merrilee will be coaching you each Saturday in February through this class which is perfect for beginners. You’ll have a chance to focus on form and the fundamentals of CrossFit, followed by a segmented WOD (workout of the day) to implement what you learned. There’s no need to sign up, just bring yourself (and maybe a sweat date buddy). We can’t wait to see you there!
