NOW THE HARD PART.
Today begins the part where most people find an excuse to fizzle out and kick the can down the road to start prioritizing their health “on Monday”….or “when Summer is over”… or “next year.” We’ve all done it. But this time, you are going to stick with it and start TODAY.
SO WHERE DO I START? WITH SOME WATER!
Water makes up over 60% of our body and over 90% of our blood. It is the one thing every single organism on this planet needs to survive.
The problem is… too many of us drink just enough water to survive and not necessarily enough to THRIVE.
HOW MUCH IS ENOUGH?
Good question! Like with anything related to your own INDIVIDUAL HEALTH, it depends. But here is a good place to start.
For this entire week, aim for half your bodyweight in ounces daily. 🍵 Herbal tea counts. 🍋 A lemon slice in your water – COUNT IT! ✨ Sparkly beverage – YUP!
🚨Fun Police Alert🚨 Caffeinated, alcoholic, or sweetened drinks do not count.
Remember, coming up short or missing a few days is OK!. The goal is consistency. Aiming for perfection is oftentimes the reason we fall short of doing just a little bit better.
Before you do coffee, get some ounces in! Start your day with a win so that you are not chugging right before bed.
Need something with flavor? Try a lemon slice! Add a little flavor to your water and some spice to your life!
We all have busy schedules. Add an “H2O CHECK” to your calendar or as a recurring alarm on your phone. Bonus points for taking a walk each time your alarm goes off… but more on movement in the coming weeks!
