Who Am I?

Kelli spent fifteen years as a competitive swimmer.  After college, she had to undergo major knee reconstructive surgery to fix her ACL, MCL, LCL, and menisci.  After her recovery, she started working out with a group of members at her gym that were doing CrossFit style workouts.  Once she started learning more and more about CrossFit, she was hooked on the training methodology and that it let her train just as hard as she had been training in the pool.  After she got her Level 1, she devoted all her free time into CrossFit to learn the movements and see how much she can push her body.  Once she gained the confidence to walk into a box, she fell in love with the sport.  Coming from an individual sport, the community and support she found made CrossFit an easy outlet for her.  CrossFit is a great way to keep her competitive spirit alive and it constantly provides room for improvement.  She is currently studying for her Doctorate of Psychology in Sport and Exercise Performance to merge the mental side of sport into CrossFit.

CrossFit scared me in the beginning because I did not think I would ever be able to do what was required.  Once I broke that barrier and was willing to learn the movements, I fell in love with what it offered.  It offered me a way to stay an athlete after being one for my whole life.  CrossFit also gives me something new to constantly work on and I have loved seeing how far I have come from the beginning.

The CrossFit methodology makes sense.  The training style is very functional and something that benefits everyone no matter their age.  Some people are scared to try CrossFit or think all these injuries arise from CrossFit.  My goal is to teach others everything I have learned and what I continue to learn about CrossFit.  I love seeing people try new things that they never thought they would ever attempt and the joy it brings to them.
