Before finding Crossfit, Tressa used running, swimming, and any form of interval training to stay fit. Tressa was encouraged to try Crossfit by a close friend, a fellow ‘gym rat’ and long time Crossfitter, that believed she would love the intensity and challenge of something new. From her very first WOD, Tressa fell in love with the sport of Crossfit and what it has done for her physically and mentally. Tressa found that her confidence in and outside the gym grew as she gained physical strength and learned what her body was capable of doing.
Tressa grew up abroad attending International schools but spent her summers with her grandparents outside Gladwyne. She graduated with her Bachelors degree in Nursing from Salisbury University and has since worked in and out of the hospital setting with patients in the United States and abroad. From there she attended and graduated from Florida International University with her Masters of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner. As a Family Nurse Practitioner, Tressa believes that she can help improve her patients’ health by stressing the importance of overall fitness and nutrition so that they in turn can make educated life decisions. Additionally, Tressa has experience coaching cross country and teaching and coaching swimming.
