In attempt to enhance his functional fitness as a United States Marine, Raymond turned to CrossFit while he was deployed to Afghanistan in 2010. He fell in love with the varied workout regimen and its close-knit community of athletes, and continued to CrossFit long after his military service ended in 2014.
Raymond grew up in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. He was a multi-sport athlete in high school, earning varsity letters in track and wrestling. He also trained and competed in kickboxing and Taekwondo through the majority of his youth.
After graduating from Temple University in 2007, Raymond served as a Ground Intelligence Officer for seven years in the United States Marine Corps. In 2014, Raymond decided to transition out of military service, returned to Temple University, and completed his M.Ed. in Secondary Education. After teaching throughout the School District of Philadelphia for two years, Raymond joined the CrossFit Main Line team as a full-time program manager and head coach in Ardmore, Pennsylvania.
Raymond currently resides in Ardmore with his wife, Allison, and their two painfully adorable daughters, Adelle and Tristan.
